Connect GROUPS

Doing Life Together

The book of First Corinthians reveals that the Christian life is not to be a singular effort.  We are to be a part of a whole body of people called the family of God.  A "Connect Group" is a place where the true intent of what it means to be brothers and sisters in Christ is practiced and demonstrated.  The purpose of a Connect Group is to build relationships through loving, supportive, and exhortative Christians who help each other through the Holy Spirit to grow in their love, knowledge, and obedience to Jesus Christ.  A Connect Group is not a social meeting or a club, but it is a Christ-centered ministry opportunity.

  • Always True

"2 Peter 1:3 refers to certain portions of God’s Word as exceedingly great and precious promises. Great promises are ones that don’t fall apart during difficult times; they reveal hope in the midst of the storm. Precious promises are ones that we find strong enough to hold us up and resilient enough to get us through. God’s promises become exceedingly great and precious to us when nothing else will do.

By digging into the theology of God’s promises, this study uncovers 5 major categories of promises in the Bible and the 5 areas God repeatedly makes promises concerning. From dealing with fear and doubt to God’s goodness, help, and victory, the Bible has much to say about God’s presence in our difficulty.

Always True will point you to God’s promises, which are just that: always true."

  • The Bait of Satan

"Are you compelled to tell your side of the story?

Do you fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust?

Are you constantly rehearsing past hurts?

Have you lost hope because of what someone did to you?

The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God--offense. This trap restrains countless Christians, severs relationships, and widens the gulfs between us. Jesus said, "It is impossible that no offenses should come” (Luke 17:1). Although you will encounter offense, you can choose how you will react.

This study will show you how to identify the traps ahead of you and escape the victim mentality.

Don’t let anyone affect your relationship with God! "

  • Overcomer

"Many people feel they are less than who God says they are. We get our identity from our careers, our political positions, our roles in the family, and a number of other lesser things.

However, what is most true about us is that we are made by a God who loves us, and the gospel can bring us into a relationship with Him. When we understand who God is, we more fully understand who we are.

This small group guides participants through examining how we determine and find our true identity in Christ with clips from the Kendrick brothers' film, Overcomer.

    Session topics:

    1. Who Are You?

    2. You Are Broken

    3. You Are Chosen

    4. You Surrender

    5. You Declare"

  • Can I Ask That? - Youth Study

"Teenagers are tired of vague or nonexistent answers to their tough questions about God, the Bible, and Christianity. Just when they're capable of diving into the deep end of their faith, all too often the church keeps them splashing around in shallow waters. As eight years of Sticky Faith research on teenagers has shown, it's not doubt or hard questions that are toxic to faith. It's silence."

  • Ephesians

Pastor Terry Bradley will be walking through the book of Ephesians this semester. Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world. Join us as we study the book of Ephesians.
