Connect GROUPS

Doing Life Together

The book of First Corinthians reveals that the Christian life is not to be a singular effort.  We are to be a part of a whole body of people called the family of God.  A "Connect Group" is a place where the true intent of what it means to be brothers and sisters in Christ is practiced and demonstrated.  The purpose of a Connect Group is to build relationships through loving, supportive, and exhortative Christians who help each other through the Holy Spirit to grow in their love, knowledge, and obedience to Jesus Christ.  A Connect Group is not a social meeting or a club, but it is a Christ-centered ministry opportunity.

"They devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching and to fellowship,

to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Acts 2:42

Spring connect groups

Our Connect Groups meet in trimesters throughout the year. We have something for all ages and all walks of life. We believe that community happens in circles, not rows, which makes Connect Groups the perfect place to fit right in! Groups start Sunday February 11th. Please call the church office at 580-584-6546 if you have any questions. • Authentic

    Leaders/Hosts: Steve & Tama Lester

    Where: 229 Lukfata Cemetery Rd.

A lot of people call themselves Christians but don't live as authentic disciples. Jesus had a word for people like that - hypocrites. This Bible study examines six spiritual disciplines that can help believers develop a more authentic relationship with Jesus: Bible study, prayer, fasting, fellowship, service, and worship.

  • Anxious for Nothing

    Leaders/Hosts: Stephen & Ferne Eu

    Where: 102 Yashau Creek Dr.

Over the past few decades, studies have shown that Americans are the most anxious people in the world. How have we let our fears get the better of us? We will reflect on the promises of Philippians 4:4-8. This passage from Paul's epistle contains an antidote to anxiety that will help you develop a mindset of resilience. Rediscover the power of prayer and take control of your thoughts. You can rest in "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding."

  • Forgotten God

    Leaders: Chuck & Greta McOwen

    Hosts: Terry & Kim Bradley

Today's church admires the gift of the Holy Spirit, but have we neglected to open it? Chan tears away the wrapping paper and the ribbons to uncover the source of the believing community's true power for witness and service. He issues a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Spirit of the living God.

  • Present Over Perfect

    Leaders/Hosts: Justin & Crystal Hoover

Where: 716 Slater Rd. (Holly Creek)

Are your thoughts always racing ahead to the next thing on your "to-do" list? Liberating you from the pressure of perfection, we invite you to be open to God's unconditional love, focus on the present moment, and experience a deeper sense of grace, space, and connection. Join us in this Bible study that offers an invitation to a new way of living - full of grace, space, and connection.

  • The Church of the Small Things

    Leaders: Kent & Carey Nix

    Where: 259 Jaguar Ln.

Stirring a pot of soup, working in a cubicle, packing bag lunches for the kids -- meaning and significance can be found in mundane moments! With humorous stories about Frito pie, best friends, endless summers, and unexpected grace, this study will open your eyes to the countless ordinary times in life that are precious and sacred.

  • The Connected Child

    Leaders: Kim Dickerson

Where: First Assembly of God - 1501 S Park Dr.

    When: Wednesdays @ 7:00 p.m.

This Connect Group will delve into a book called The Connected Child by Karyn Purvis and David Cross. It discusses ways to build bonds of affection and trust with your child, foster child or adoptive child. It discusses effectively dealing with learning or behavioral disorders as well as disciplining a child without making them feel threatened. This will be great for parents, teachers, and daycare workers. Come join us!

  • Psalm 23: A Psalm of David

    Leader: Pastor Terry Bradley

Where: First Assembly of God - 1501 S Park Dr.

    When: Sundays 4:30 p.m.

    "The Lord is my Shepherd..."

You've probably hear these treasured words before. Psalm 23 is one of the best-known, most-often quoted passages in Scripture. And there's a beautiful reason why. If you're struggling to sleep at night, or to keep the enemy away from the table of provision Jesus has prepared for you, the truths of Psalm 23 will restore your comfort in the presence of the Shepherd, and lead you to rest in the promise of His peace. Join us as we learn what it means to be a sheep under the watch and care of the only Good Shepherd.

  • The Book of James (Youth Study)

    Leader: Jeremy Cox

Where: First Assembly of God Youth Room

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.
